The report on Lithuania's greenhouse gas (GHG) emission projections, climate change policies, and measures submitted to the European Commission shows that, with the planned policies and measures, GHG emissions in sectors not participating in the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) will decrease by 21% by 2030 compared to 2005.
The GHG emission projections for the 2022–2030 period in non-ETS sectors indicate that the largest sources of GHG emissions will continue to be the transport (38%) and agriculture (35%) sectors. Small-scale energy will contribute 16% of total GHG emissions in non-ETS sectors, industry will account for 7%, and the waste sector will constitute 4% of GHG emissions.
